My Client is a national award winning enterprise who successfully provide supported living, residential care, respite, short breaks and transitional support to people who have complex needs, mental health issues and learning disabilities. Although they are nationwide they remain firmly committed to local values, with a holistic support approach at the centre of everything they do.

They are looking to recruit an experienced Permanent Full Time Registered Manager who has specific working experience in the learning disabilities and supported living areas. Applying Candidates will ideally need to drive and have their RMA/NVQ 5/LMA or equivalent.

The ideal Applicant will have previous experience in starting up a Service as this post is a start-up for 6 service users in a supported living setting in WEYMOUTH, Dorset.

Applying Applicants will possess the following skills and experience:-

  • RMA/NVQ 5/LMA or equivalent in Health & Social Care.
  • Possess at least 1 year's previous experience of managing a learning disabilities/supported living service.
  • Working knowledge of best practice, CQC and other legislation
  • Experience of working with individuals that have complex needs and demonstrate challenging behaviour.
  • Experience of managing multiple staff teams.
  • Experience of recruiting, inducting, training, conducting disciplinary investigations and writing investigation reports and concluding.
  • Committed to promoting the rights of people who have mental health issues and learning disabilities.
  • Good all round experience of compiling complex care plans involving the service users and staff, updating same and addressing risks and implementing risk assessments, especially for people who are living in the community.
  • Excellent communication (written and oral) and supervisory skills.
  • Proficient Microsoft Word, Excel and Email.
  • Willingness to work as part of the on-call rota.
  • Ability to work on own initiative and make quick decisions in extremely stressful situations.
  • Ability to inspire, motivate and develop high quality support teams.
  • Hold a full driving Licence
