15 hours per week, 40 weeks per annum,focused around the University semester pattern. Salary range: £30,942 to £32,817 per annum pro-rata, £9,649 to £10,233 per annum, plus holiday pay element.

Students, Support and Information Services

Working within a network of multidisciplinary teams this rewarding role contributes in supporting our students to achieve their goals.

The Dyslexia Adviser provides information, advice and guidance to current and prospective students with a range of specific learning difficulties. This will include initial meeting and/or screening of current students or offer-holders with possible or confirmed specific learning difficulties e.g. dyslexia, dyspraxia, ADHD; plus assistance with the Disabled Students'' Allowances application process.

The Adviser will also evaluate and arrange adjustments for students in order to support them to participate fully in academic life and meet their potential.

An additional facet to the role is responsibility for the delivery of high quality, one-to-one study skills tuition to students in order to encourage independent learning and facilitate academic progress.

It’s essential you have relevant experience and professional qualifications and are familiar with current issues regarding support for students with dyslexia/specific learning difficulties in higher education.

With some flexibility on working days and hours the post will be located at least one day each week at our Bishop Otter Campus, Chichester.
