Salary: Level 1 £27,394 - £29,854 p.a. Level 2 £29,854 - £33,105 p.a.

Working in the Highways Costal and Design Team we are seeking an experienced engineer to work with and support the senior engineers to successfully design and deliver schemes from inception through to completion. You will be involved in schemes that range from small revenue improvements through to multimillion pound major projects.

We are seeking someone who is educated to HND or degree level in Civil Engineering (or equivalent) and holds an appropriate professional qualification together with membership of the appropriate professional body, or be working towards. A suitable project management qualification would also be desirable.

The Engineer post may be Level 1 or Level 2.

Level 1 is intended for post holders who have at least 3 years post graduate experience. They are developing their career and have some good experience in the industry at a more junior level.

An Engineer can progress to Level 2 by: • having at least 5 years' post graduate experience and, • providing evidence (agreed by their line manager) to show they are performing at the required standard of the role and, • having a professional qualification (or equivalent) as detailed above and, • being recommended for promotion from Level 1 to Level 2 by their line manager.

In terms of career development, a good target for an Engineer to move from Level 1 to Level 2 is not later than 7 years post graduate experience.
