We are currently working with a long established, local client to recruit an experienced Project Manager to join their team due to expansion and growth. The role would be based from Havant however you would be expected to travel as projects require, predominately UK based. They are looking for someone who has experience working on large construction projects circa £1million in value.

The salary for this role is around £40'000 to £45'000 per annum plus a company car / laptop / phone, there is also free parking, easy motorway access, 20 days holiday per year (rising with service), and a contributory pension scheme. The company is easily commutable from Portsmouth, Southampton, Waterlooville, Chichester, Havant, Fareham, and surrounding areas.

Requirements:

You will need to have experience managing large projects within building services or construction, around £500k /£1.5million

Experience managing multiple projects from point of order to completion

Must possess excellent communication skills as well as being able to negotiate, build strong relationships, organise people and drive tasks through to completion

Good computer skills, Project software, MS Office and Excel

Able to understand building//technical drawings/specifications

A valid UK driving licence is essential (company car is provided)

Experience controlling budgets

Self-motivated and works well in a pressurised environment

A knowledge of ventilation / control systems would be an advantage but it isn’t essential

Educated to NVQ or HND level (or equivalent) - a qualification within a construction, civil, architectural or mechanical engineering related discipline would be an advantage

The role:

This is a senior but still very hands-on role, you would be managing large projects from point of order to through completion and overseeing installation, mostly within commercial and industrial markets.

You will be involved at every stage including visiting clients for initial meetings, managing any technical issues, design, procurement, manufacture (internal and sub-contractors), expediting, correspondence (contract/commercial), commissioning, all finance/budgeting, and handing over to the client.

You will be expected to complete projects safely, meeting quality standards, within budget and completed on time.

You will be regularly liaising with the client and project suppliers at all times, keeping the client fully up to date with progress.

This role is predominately office based with some travel to site as and when required plus visiting clients around the UK.
