Bond Williams Accounting & Finance are recruiting a Head of Finance for a high profile charity based in Poole specialising in the arts. Turnover is almost £3 million and funding is 70% self generated.

Reporting to the CEO, you will work as part of the senior management team and have prime responsibility for all financial aspects although you would have the opportunity to contribute to decision making across all aspects of the organisation. Specific financial responsibilities would be:

* Management and development of the finance team
· Preparation of annual and long term financial plans, revenue and capital, aligned to strategic objectives and changes to funding
* Ensuring processes and systems are fit for purpose and undertaking regular reviews.
* Forecasting and budgeting
· Reviewing monthly management accounts
· Preparing financial statements under SORP
· Cash flow planning and management
· Ensuring all compliance aspects are met e.g. VAT, Gift Aid, PAYE etc.
· Building relationships with banks, auditors, HMRC and funding organisations
· Taking responsibility for IT strategy and security that is robust and supports the vision and culture of the organisation
· Representation of the organisation at events from time to time

A professional accountancy qualification (ACA/ACCA/ACMA) with a min of 5 years PQE is essential, together with experience in a not for profit/charitable organisation. Working knowledge of tax issues (income tax, NI, VAT and Gift Aid), good IT and interpersonal skills would also be required. An interest in the arts/charities would be highly desirable.
